* PLEASE NOTE BEFORE INSTALLATION: The installation of these
turn signals
should be considered a permanent modification. Once the glue on the adhesive
sets it is very difficult to remove the turn signals without damaging or
breaking
the LEDs or leaving residue on the fork tubes. If you’re considering any future
front-end modifications (chroming, etc.), the installation of these turn signals
should be done last.
Tools Suggested
Rubbing alcohol, quality hair dryer or heat gun, soldering iron and related
wiring
tools, strap wrench or zip ties.
Note
While installation is rather straightforward, dealer installation is recommended
for those individuals not comfortable with wiring and other related skills
required
for the installation of this product.
Installation of this product should take place in a proper environment free of
temperature extremes (heat or cold) to allow for the proper installation and
curing of the adhesive.
Please note that the flash rate will vary from bike to bike based on the bike's
total electrical load impedance, and can be modified with the installation of a
flasher module (not included). As stated in our conditions page @
www.mbwmotorcycle.com, this is not an acceptable reason for refund/return.
PROCEDURE Average Time: 1-1½ HOURS
· IMPORTANT!!! Do NOT attempt to bend the tubing until you're ready for
install and the tubing has been heated properly with a hair dryer and is
sufficiently pliable and flexible. Otherwise, you'll likely break the LEDs
circuit board...
· Prior to install if you'd like to test each LED, simple hold the correct wires
to the corresponding terminals on the battery or other 12 volt source.

Front LED Wrap-Around Turn Signal
Installation Guide
· Prior to hard wiring/soldering it is recommend that you mock-up
the wiring to determine your flash rate and four-way flasher
function to determine whether or not a flasher module is needed
or desired.
· Remove front turn signals
· Expose the wiring to allow you to set up and splice and solder the wires
accordingly.
· Be advised that is extremely likely that your bike’s right front turn signal
was incorrectly wired with reverse polarity. If your LEDs don’t light when
wired correctly, simply switch them and wire the LEDs yellow wire to the
stock black/ground wire and vice versa.
· Use the stock wire sheathing to run the wires from the turn signals up into
the headlight bucket...
· Once all your wires are set up in the bucket, splice and solder your flasher
module (if applicable) in with the stock wiring and LED turn signal wiring.
Clean the fork tubes with rubbing alcohol and let dry in preparation for
affixing the light tube to the forks. Please see note below in
reference to the use of the included 3M Automotive Adhesion
Promoter. Aesthetically, above and flush with the lower triple tree is our
recommendation.
· Make sure wherever you start one end of the tube works for both
aesthetics and function, and should be symmetrical with the other side.
· We recommend a quality hair dryer to be used to heat up the tube, a heat
gun may melt it.
· Heat the tube thoroughly before removing the protective cover from the
adhesive strip on the back of the tube. Keep the hair dryer handy to keep
it warm and flexible/pliable while wrapping it around the fork legs.
· Once the tube has been wrapped around the fork tube and is in position,
place an appropriate clamping device, (like those rubber wrap around jobs
from Sears/Craftsman) to get the final edge of the tube adhered to the
forks. Zip ties can also be used to do this. Shortcutting this step is
asking for problems! FYI, the adhesive completely cures with 24 hours
· If, for any reason, you're dissatisfied with the positioning of the turn
signal, reheat the tube thoroughly and SLOWLY pull it off, reheat and
reapply. Try not to do that too many times as the adhesive will begin to
lose it effectiveness.
* A packet of 3M Automotive Adhesion Promoter has been included in your package.
While its use is not required, it will enable the tubing to get an even stronger
hold on
the fork tubes. After cleaning your fork tubes (with an appropriate cleaner,
like rubbing
alcohol) and letting them dry, the promoter can be applied to the mounting
surface
immediately prior to affixing the tube. Proper tube placement is extremely
important
when using the adhesion promoter...be certain of your desired tube placement
before
doing this! Once applied, with the tube adhered, tube removal will be difficult.
If you
need to remove the tube after this step has been done, do so very carefully to
avoid
breaking the LED strip.
